about

"Where the Wild Sea Ends" (Là où les tempêtes se meurent). Co-written with French-Australian singer-songwriter, Nadège, and inspired by Charles Baudelaire’s poem: L’Invitation au voyage. Duo en français et anglais co-écrit avec Nadège, auteure et interprète Franco-australienne. Une chanson inspirée par le poème de Charles Baudelaire: L’invitation au voyage.

lyrics

Emmène-moi, sur ton vaisseau,
(Take me aboard your vessel)
Au calme des lointains paysages
(To the calmness of faraway landscapes)
Que je vogue au fil des notes
(Sailing on the stream of notes)
Loin de ce monde et ses naufrages
(Away from this world and its wreckages)

Efface d’un coup d’archet
(With a flick of a bow, erase)
les ciels déchirés, les orages
(The shredded skies, the storms)
Donne moi une clé des songes
(Give me a key to the dreams)
Une invitation au voyage
(An invitation to a voyage)

Come, our song will rise
Our spirits, high
Above the incantation tide

You sweep your feet
In the gypsy waves
Windswept towns behind us fade

Look, the wild blue
Tiny hints of life
Foreshadow worlds beyond the sky

Joue-moi, entre deux octaves,
(Within two octaves, let me hear)
Le chant des vagues, l’appel du large
(The song of the waves, the calling of the sea)
Que je glisse au bord des rêves,
(Gliding on the edge of dreams)
Loin des langueurs, des états d’âme
(Away from melancholic states of mind)

Peints-moi un soleil d’hiver,
(Paint me a winter sun)
Des fleurs d’Orient, des ciels d’opale
(Flowers from the Orient, opal skies)
Donne-moi une clé de sol
(Give me a treble clef)
Vers un ailleurs, un beau mirage
(Towards another horizon, a beautiful mirage)

[Bridge]

Two poets out at sea
Enamoured by the stars;
That flicker underneath

Your wild eyes reflect the moon
Behind those salty tears;
A faithful amber glow

We’re on our way
Hands entertwined
In slumbers sweet
Tomorrow comes

A city bright
Beyond all time
Hyacinth and gold
A place of love

We’re on our way
Oui, emmène-moi (Yes, take me away)
Blue melts with blue
Vers ces aubes bleues (To these blue dawns)
Adventures unfold
Conduis-moi au bout de la nuit (Lead me to the end of the night)
On top of the world
Au bout des songes, au bout des rêves (Far into the dreams)
The whispering waves
Là où tout n’est qu’ordre et beauté (Where all is order and beauty)
The prophecy skies
Luxe, calme et volupté (Luxury, calm and pleasure)
Where the wild sea ends
Là où les tempêtes se meurent (Where the storms die)
A doorway of light
Dans l’or et la lumière (In the gold and the light)
